A survivor of family and domestic violence, I struggled for years with bulimia, body dysmorphia, anxiety, and depression. I entered treatment as an adult, and though I made progress with recovery, when I discovered yoga it felt like I had found the missing link.
The shifts catalyzed by my practice were gradual, but they built upon themselves, supporting my pathway to better health and greater happiness. I became a yoga teacher, then a yoga therapist, completing extensive training in SomaYoga, which couples yoga’s healing methodologies with Somatics, a neuromuscular re-education technique. When working with clients,
I incorporate SomaYoga with various other modalities, including corrective movement, fascial release and retraining, manual therapy, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation. Through these means, my clients and I tend to the body, brain, mind, heart, and spirit, leading to the holistic improvement of their health and well-being.[/ultimate_heading]
